| Video-Recorded Audition Guidelines |

| Entrants are required to submit 2 Photos, a résumé and 2 video-recorded auditions on your standard "acoustic Violin". The performance should be recorded as a ‘live’ audition. A quiet room or studio must be used. Use a fixed point of view for your video phone or camera with the entrant auditioning being the main focus. Shoot straight on, leaving the camera in one location. The picture must remain stationary without any panning, fade-in/fade-out or close-up techniques or use of multiple cameras. Camera should be no closer than waist up. Place the camera so that your instrument and your hands/fingers are clearly visible while playing. |
| Repertoire Requirements |
| The audition must be given as solo Violin. The audition should consist of two independent performances each NOT TO EXCEED TWO MINUTES. The audition should include: A brief verbal self introduction and the title/composer of your audition piece.The repertoire should include exerts from a Baroque Allegro and A Baroque Adagio or Largo. The repertoire should be either Italian or German in origin. |
| Uploading your files |
| After you complete your video recording, you must upload it using the upload utility above. We prefer video files saved in one of the following formats: MP4, MPEG, Quicklime Mov or WMV. Most computers come with some sort of video editing application already installed, such as iMovie or Windows Movie Maker. By using these programs, you can easily encode your video to the proper format. |
